WHO ARE WE?
The Everywoman is a project targeting sexism in Sydney’s music industry, specifically in the Newtown Area and the University of New South Wales. This project aims to increase the believability of women’s experiences of sexism in various music spaces and to undo the historical bias of masculine power in performance and rehearsal spaces. To do this, we will develop different audio tours (similar to those at historical/tourist sites) that will include walking instructions around both the Newtown and University of New South Wales areas. In this audio tour, verbatim testimonies about experienced sexism in these specific places will be used to prioritise female voices and experiences surrounding this issue.
